Hand made vase carving of a beautiful "Picasso" Marble. Vases are 3-1/2" tall is 2-3/4" diameter and weighs .70 pounds.

Excellent workmanship. Each vase is "one-of-a-kind", with the colors streaking through the stone are different. Every vase is individually hand turned on a lathe. No two are alike, either in color, weight, or size. This is a new product coming out of Central China. The Marble is mined locally and worked into different artifacts. You're not likely to find these any where in stores or on the web.

Marble is a non foliated metamorphic rock resulting from the metamorphism of limestone, composed mostly of calcite. It is extensively used for sculpture, as a building material, and in many other applications.

The word "marble derives from the Ancient Greek work "marmaron" meaning crystalline rock.
