Dictyoptychus Morgani Rudist bivalves were a diverse group of marine organisms that thrived during the Cretaceous period, approximately 145 to 66 million years ago. These bivalves had a unique shape, resembling a cone or a horn, and were found in shallow marine environments around the world. The United Arab Emirates is one of the regions where rudist bivalves are commonly found, with several species having been identified in the area.

During the Cretaceous period, the Arabian Peninsula was covered by a shallow sea, known as the Tethys Sea. This sea was home to a diverse array of marine life, including rudist bivalves. The Rudists were particularly abundant in the shallow waters around what is now the United Arab Emirates. These bivalves formed large reefs, which provided habitat for other marine organisms.

The rudist bivalves went extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period, along with many other marine organisms. The cause of this extinction event is still debated among scientists, but it is thought to have been related to a combination of factors such as volcanic activity, asteroid impact, and changes in climate and sea level.

Overall, the rudist bivalves of the Cretaceous period were an important part of the marine ecosystem and left behind a rich fossil record that provides valuable insights into the history of life on Earth.
